The Event

Cagli in Rinascimento

Cagli in Rinascimento was born as an initiative of the Associazione Giochi Storici to return to the city its Renaissance spirit. The event "unites different age groups in a vision of historical continuity", bringing Cagli back to the ancient splendors of a period that saw it as a great protagonist of the Marche Renaissance.

The first edition dates back to 2006, when the Association decided to organize it to enhance the historical groups that belong to it, while offering new spaces for initiatives of Renaissance inspiration. The first protagonist companies were the Crossbowmen (Balestrieri) and Archers (Arcieri), the Drummers (Tamburini), and a young Commedia dell'Arte company: the Guitti dell'Oca.

Over time, the event has become the ideal venue to grow existing groups and experiment with new historical formations. Among the regular events: national crossbow and archery tournaments, Renaissance theater shows by the Compagnia dei Guitti dell'Oca, historical costume parades, and dinners in period clothing.

Each edition confirms the vitality of a project that, year after year, knows how to renew itself without losing the connection with its roots: the history, the pride of Cagli, and the passion for an era that left indelible marks on the architecture, culture, and identity of this city.
