Sant’Andrea takes home the Oca dei Mezzani for the second year in a row
The district of Sant’Andrea wins the Palio dei Mezzani, winning the coveted Goose for the second year in a row. In a dispute charged with tension and pushed to the evening due to the afternoon bad weather, the die decreed the victory of the yellow-blue team once again, unleashing the enthusiasm of the young pages between 14 and 18 years old.
The race, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, was postponed due to rain, but this did not dampen the energy and participation of the four districts, which put on a show in a fiercely contested challenge until the last roll.
Again this year, the evening ended with a big party in the unified Tavern, which welcomed all the young protagonists of the competition in an atmosphere of joy and sharing.
The excitement, however, does not stop here. Today, Sunday, August 3rd, it will be the turn of the little ones: at 5:30 PM in Piazza Matteotti, the Paliotto, the Palio dei Bambini, will take place. The young representatives of the districts will challenge each other to lift the much-desired little goose to the sky, amidst smiles, colors, and pure spirit of play.
