Women's Mixed Course

Percorso misto femminile

Participants: 5 female pages.

The Quarter that lands on this square must have its pages run a relay speed race with several obstacles, at the same time as a drawn opposing Quarter.

The course starts from diametrically opposite positions on the midline of the shorter side of the playing rectangle, simultaneously and counter-clockwise. Each stretch of the course features a different challenge.

Stretch 1 — Bricks

  • Run by one page and one reserve page.
  • Consists of walking on three bricks with crossed steps, moving the bricks by hand.
  • The start has the page on two bricks, before the Arena's midline.
  • After two false starts, the page responsible for the second one is eliminated from the round in progress and may be replaced by a reserve page; a third false start causes the Quarter at fault to automatically lose the game.
  • The handover only counts once the corner line has been crossed with all three bricks and the whole body.
  • If the page touches the ground with any part of the body (hands, feet, etc.), they are replaced by a reserve page.
  • The reserve page may follow the action but must stay outside the lines running from corner to corner.
  • When a page touches the ground, the bricks must be left as they are: it is the replacement page's job to reset them and start again from the point where the other page touched down.

Stretch 2 — Stilts

  • Run by one page.
  • The page must cross the long side of the Arena to the next corner.
  • They may start behind the line already balanced on the stilts.
  • If they fall, they must climb back up from the point of the fall, without anyone's help.
  • The handover happens when the page crosses the corner line with the stilts and the whole body.
  • If a page starts before the previous runner has crossed the line, they must go back.

Stretch 3 — Sack race

  • Run by one page.
  • Consists of hopping from corner to corner with both legs inside a sack.
  • The handover happens once the page has crossed the corner line with the whole body and the sack.
  • They may start behind the line already inside the sack.
  • If they fall or lose the sack, they must restart inside the sack from the point of the fall.
  • If a page starts before the previous runner has crossed the line, they must go back.

Stretch 4 — Running

  • Run by one page.
  • Consists of running the long stretch and then the short one, finishing the race on the Arena's midline by crossing the line.
  • If a page starts before the previous runner has crossed the line, they must go back.

The Quarter that crosses the finish line first wins. If the challenging Quarter wins the race, it gains the points scored with the dice; if it loses, it goes back to the square from which it rolled the dice.

Each page must clear the playing field of their own equipment (sack, stilts, bricks). If the equipment obstructs the opposing Quarter's path, the page responsible is disqualified.
