Bridge

Ponte

3 male pages

Competitive game between the District that landed on the tile and the drawn opposing District.

  • Both the challenging District and the challenged one must form a team consisting of three pages.
  • The pages will face each other one-on-one in three rounds.
  • In each round, the pages will be armed with a long pole and will position themselves, one per team, at the center of the bridge, inside the two boundary lines between which the clash must take place.
  • The purpose of the game is to make the opposing page fall into the water by using the pole to push them and thus unbalance them.
  • It is forbidden, before and after the starting whistle, to charge the other page and to go backward beyond the boundary lines of the pole.
  • The pages must not deliberately sway the bridge on which the game takes place, neither before nor during the challenge, under penalty of disqualification of the page and loss of the round.
  • During the challenge, it is mandatory for the contenders to use their pole only and exclusively as a pushing element, without delivering strikes or other dangerous moves, under penalty of disqualification.
  • The pole, when attempting to lean on the opponent's body, must not exceed shoulder height: the pages must therefore avoid deliberately hitting the opponent's head, under penalty of disqualification.
  • If a contender's pole hits the opponent's head after sliding on the body following a previously performed strike, this does not entail the disqualification of the page.
  • The page who falls first loses the round.
  • The winner is absolutely not allowed to jump or clear the pool directly from the pole: they are obliged to fall into the water or reach the access stairs, under penalty of losing the round.
  • If the pole is dropped after the referee's whistle, even if it does not fall into the water, the match is lost anyway.
  • The challenge officially begins after the judge's whistle.
  • If one is unbalanced or unbalances oneself after the judge's whistle, it is forbidden, under penalty of disqualification, to try to recover by leaning the pole on the pool.
  • During the clash with the poles, one cannot exceed, IN ANY WAY, the limits marked on the pole with one's body. In case of a draw, another tie-breaking game will be held between the two Districts through a single clash, leaving free choice to the captains on which players to use.
  • The pages must enter the combat zone with both feet, after which the referee will declare the game ready, and after 2 seconds will whistle the start of the challenge.
  • The pages must absolutely not cross the centerline of the pole before the whistle, neither with the body nor with the pole.
  • If during the two seconds one of the two pages leaves their space, falls into the water, or outside the pool, the game must restart. If instead they invade the opponent's space, they will be disqualified and the round will be awarded to the opposing page.
  • The District whose pages win 2 rounds out of 3 against the opponents wins the competition.
  • If the challenging District wins the competition, it earns the points obtained with the die; if it loses the competition, it moves back to the dice-rolling tile.
